Visit to Chester Zoo.

Sleeping at the Butterfly enclosure.
Sleeping at the Giraffe's.
Our first trip to the zoo. We picked the activity thinking William wouldn't really get much out of it and it actually turned out to be one of my absolute favourite family days to date! It will be one of my happiest memories.

We got there around 10am, William napped till 11:30am so me and Matt had a game where we took him to different animal areas and took pictures of him sleeping in front of it! Just so we could show him when he's older haha.

We gently woke him around 11:30am and headed straight to the monkeys, as they are always the most fun! The Gibbons were so great to watch, with a little gibbon baby jumping everywhere, we also heard a lion raw for the first time! It was pretty much the first time the lions have done anything other than lie down when I have visited the Zoo haha!

We had our own picnics we made up before setting off and at the end of the day, after we had done everything we wanted to, we took William in the shop and bought him his own little meerkat toy. We chose meerkats as they was the one animal that really caught his attention!

I have always thought of the Zoo as a nice Spring or Summer day out, but going on a cold dry day was perfect, there was hardly anyone there!! Last year when me and Matt went on a bank holiday it was so busy we had to bypass certain enclosures.

When we got back to the hotel, we took William swimming in the hotel pool and he absolutely loved it! This was the first time I was nervous about going swimming with him as my Mum had been in this pool the week earlier and commented how cold it was but I needn't have worried as he loved it! The hotel life guard even started commenting on how much of a water baby he is. He has never ever cried in a swimming pool, he kicks his legs and arms, like he's having the best time!
